Washington State Legislature requests the U.S. government open a transparent, thorough, and independent investigation into the September 6, 2024 killing of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old Seattle-raised U.S. citizen shot by an Israeli military sniper in the West Bank

Eygi was a University of Washington psychology graduate and human rights observer who organized peaceful protests, participated in Dakota Access Pipeline protests, and raised over $47,000 for medical aid for children in Gaza

The memorial also references Rachel Corrie, an Olympia resident killed by an Israeli military bulldozer in Gaza in 2003, whose family never achieved accountability through U.S. diplomatic channels or Israeli courts

Copies of the memorial are to be transmitted to President Trump, the Secretary of State, Department of State, Department of Justice, and both chambers of Congress
