Washington State Senate Resolution 8659 honors Senator Bill Ramos, who passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2025, while trail running near his Issaquah home

Senator Ramos served on Issaquah City Council (2016-2019), as a state Representative (2019-2025), and as a state Senator from January 2025 representing the 5th Legislative District (Issaquah to Snoqualmie Pass and Enumclaw)

Prior to elected office, he worked with the U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration, collaborating with over 50 tribal nations on transportation equity in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest

In the legislature, he chaired the state Government & Tribal Relations Committee, served as vice chair of the Latino Democratic Caucus and Senate Transportation Committee, and championed transportation equity, tribal sovereignty, and environmental stewardship
