Washington State Senate commends Roman Rogalski, a Polish-born refugee who witnessed the Nazi occupation of Warsaw and later lived in refugee camps in Western Europe and Venezuela before arriving in the United States

Rogalski settled in Seattle in 1964, served in the United States Army, and worked as a Safeco employee while becoming a dedicated member of the Polish Home Association

Restored and fully refurbished a dilapidated home over four years, then donated it to the Polish Community—the largest single donation in the 107-year history of the Polish Home Association

The donated property will serve as a community gathering space in Seattle open to all groups and individuals
