Nearly 300 million people worldwide observe Nowruz across Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and among Kurdish, Hazara, and other cultural groups in the Middle East and Central Asia

Resolution acknowledges Washington state's Middle Eastern and Central Asian communities and their contributions to education, public service, entrepreneurship, health care, the arts, advocacy, and civic leadership

Senate extends solidarity and support to all communities observing Nowruz and wishes celebrants a joyful, peaceful, and prosperous new year
