Undergraduate admission decisions at UW System institutions must be predominantly based on college entrance examination performance (ACT, SAT, or similar standardized tests) or other objective testing measures

The new standardized testing requirement does not apply to students admitted through Wisconsin's existing guaranteed admission program, which provides automatic admission for top 10% of high school classes (top 5% for UW-Madison)

Existing prohibitions on sectarian, partisan, or discriminatory tests based on race, religion, national origin, or sex in admissions remain unchanged

Requirements first apply to applications for the 2027-28 academic year
