Prohibits health insurance policies and self-insured governmental health plans from using artificial intelligence to deny prior authorization requests based on medical necessity or experimental status

Requires a licensed health care provider who is an individual to review prior authorization requests involving medical necessity or experimental status before any denial can be issued

Applies to disability insurance policies, self-insured health plans, limited service health organizations, preferred provider plans, and defined network plans

Takes effect on the first day of the 4th month after publication, with delayed implementation for plans affected by collective bargaining agreements until those agreements are newly established, extended, modified, or renewed
