School boards must provide child sexual abuse prevention instruction to all students from 4-year-old kindergarten through grade 12, beginning in the 2026-27 school year, with at least one instructional session per grade level.

Required curriculum topics include age-appropriate facts about sexual abuse, anatomically correct body part terms, setting personal boundaries, consent, distinguishing safe from unsafe touch, and how to report abuse to trustworthy adults.

Parents/guardians must receive annual notification before instruction begins, including a program outline for their child's grade level, approximate timing, and opt-out information.

Schools must provide parents with educational materials on adverse childhood experiences, warning signs of abuse, offender characteristics, how to discuss prevention with children, and reporting procedures.

Parents/guardians may exempt their child from the instruction by submitting a written request to the teacher or principal.
