Out-of-state health care providers with active, unencumbered licenses may register with the Department of Safety and Professional Services to provide telehealth services to Wisconsin patients without obtaining a Wisconsin credential

Applicants must have no disciplinary actions resulting in license limitations, suspensions, or revocations in the 5 years preceding application, and must designate an agent for service of process in Wisconsin

Registered telehealth providers are prohibited from opening offices in Wisconsin or providing in-person care unless they obtain a Wisconsin credential

Registrants must notify DSPS within 5 business days of any restrictions or disciplinary actions on their credentials in any jurisdiction, and must maintain malpractice liability insurance covering Wisconsin patients

DSPS must publish a public list of registered telehealth providers including name, occupation, credentials, specialty, 5-year disciplinary history, and malpractice insurance information
