Courts may not consider parties joined under compulsory joinder rules (s. 803.03) or insurers joined under direct action statutes (s. 803.04) when determining proper venue based on where a defendant resides or does substantial business

Corporations, LLCs, and other business entities are deemed to reside only in their state/place of incorporation or organization for venue purposes

Business entities are deemed to conduct "substantial business" only in the county where their principal place of business is located, limiting venue options for plaintiffs

Creates new statutory sections 801.50 (3c) and 801.50 (3g) to amend Wisconsin's civil venue rules

Takes effect the day after publication
