Foreign adversaries are completely prohibited from acquiring, owning, or holding any agricultural or forestry land in Wisconsin, with no acreage allowance

"Foreign adversary" is defined as any foreign government or person determined by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to have engaged in conduct significantly adverse to U.S. national security or the safety of U.S. persons

Current law limiting non-resident aliens and foreign corporations to 640 acres of agricultural/forestry land remains in effect for non-adversary foreign persons

Land acquired or held in violation of these restrictions is subject to forfeiture to the state

The prohibition applies only to land acquired after the bill's effective date or after a person is designated a foreign adversary, whichever is later; existing holdings are not subject to divestiture
