Department of Revenue would provide grants of up to $5,000 to political subdivisions with populations under 7,500 for grant writing and compliance assistance services from 2026 through 2029, with two grant cycles per year

Eligible grant purposes limited to public works, transportation infrastructure, public safety, utility costs, and cybersecurity projects

Priority given to political subdivisions that have not previously received a grant under this program

Department must create a simple application accessible to communities with limited staffing, requiring only basic information about the applicant, project description, and estimated grant amount being sought

Department must submit an evaluation report to the Joint Committee on Finance by December 31, 2028
