Wisconsin Retirement System annuitants who return to work for a participating employer may now elect to either suspend their annuity and rejoin as a participating employee, or continue receiving their annuity without becoming a participating employee again

Reduces the required waiting period between terminating covered employment and returning to work as a participating employee from 75 days to 30 days

Removes the current mandatory annuity suspension requirement that applies when retirees return to positions expected to be at least two-thirds of full-time employment

Annuitants with currently suspended annuities must notify the Department of Employee Trust Funds within 60 days if they wish to continue their suspension; this election is irrevocable

Repeals related emergency employment provisions under s. 323.19 (3) and (4) that provided exceptions to annuity suspension rules
