Expands the definition of "veteran" for purposes of displaying veteran status on Wisconsin driver's licenses and identification cards to include former members of U.S. armed forces reserve units and the National Guard

Requires eligible individuals to meet U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs eligibility requirements for a veterans home loan to qualify for the veteran designation

Current law generally excludes National Guard duty and reserve unit service from qualifying as "active duty" for veteran status on licenses

The expanded definition applies only to the license/ID veteran indicator and does not extend to any other veteran benefits

Applies to applications received by the Department of Transportation on or after the effective date
