School buses may be equipped with audio and/or video recording devices to monitor the interior while transporting pupils to and from school and school-sponsored activities

School boards must adopt a policy authorizing the recording before any devices can be installed

Notice of the recording policy must be provided to pupils and their parents or guardians, and clearly posted inside the school bus

All recordings are confidential and restricted to use by school officials and law enforcement only

Permitted uses include investigations, school disciplinary actions, and criminal prosecutions related to incidents occurring in or around the bus
