Manufacturers of packaged food sold in Wisconsin must add warning labels disclosing the presence of 51 specified ingredients, including synthetic antioxidants (BHA, BHT), artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium), preservatives (potassium bromate), and FD&C color additives (Red No. 40, Yellow No. 5, Blue No. 1)

Warning labels must state: "WARNING: This product contains an artificial color, chemical, or food additive that is banned in Australia, Canada, the European Union, or the United Kingdom"

Labels must be prominent, high-contrast, in a visible location, and printed in font size no smaller than other consumer information on the package

Online sellers must publicly post all required labeling information on their websites for products sold to Wisconsin consumers

Criminal penalties range from $100-$1,000 fine or up to 6 months imprisonment for first offense, and $500-$5,000 fine or 30 days to 1 year imprisonment for subsequent offenses; civil penalty alternative of up to $1,000 per violation; effective January 1, 2027
