Municipal solid waste facility owners/operators who receive loans under Wisconsin's Clean Water Fund Program (s. 281.58) for wastewater treatment infrastructure may retain a portion of collected environmental repair fees

Retained amount equals the total principal and interest owed on the Clean Water Fund loan during the repayment period

Current law requires licensed solid and hazardous waste disposal facilities to collect environmental repair fees from waste generators and pay those fees to the state department

Amends Wisconsin Statutes section 289.67 (1) (b) to create an exception to the standard fee remittance requirement for qualifying municipal facilities
