Law enforcement agencies must publicly release audio and video data within 15 days of officer-involved deaths, critical incidents resulting in great bodily harm or death in officer presence/custody, or deaths occurring when an officer discharges a firearm

"Data" includes body camera footage, vehicle camera footage, emergency call recordings, agency-captured video, and public recordings in agency possession; release must be via free digital platform

Agencies may redact or withhold data to protect privacy, obscure nudity or disturbing images, shield confidential informants, protect juvenile records, or at a crime victim's request

Agencies must notify and provide review opportunity to identifiable officers and their unions, victims, minors, and the district attorney at least 48 hours before releasing data

Unaltered original data must be retained when agencies make permitted redactions or edits
