Creates a new statutory cause of action allowing students to sue private for-profit colleges (proprietary schools) that provide materially false, fraudulent, or misleading information

Prevailing students may recover all fees paid to the school, plus court costs and reasonable attorney fees

Expands existing law, which currently only allows students to sue proprietary schools operating without required state approval from the Department of Safety and Professional Services

Applies only to conduct occurring on or after the effective date of the act (not retroactive)
