Inmates at state correctional institutions and county jails must be allowed at least 2 in-person visiting periods per week, unless subject to lockdown or solitary confinement (visits may be denied for up to 10 consecutive days in those cases)

Each inmate may designate up to 25 individuals to be registered as approved visitors; removal from the list requires written justification and can be appealed through a formal complaint process

Inmates must be allowed to physically embrace each visitor for a minimum of 20 seconds at the beginning and end of each visiting period

Facilities must provide visitors with paper, pens or pencils, and crayons or markers upon request, and inmates may keep any original notes, drawings, or works created during visits using those materials
