Requires school safety plans to include procedures for notifying pupils and their families when an emergency event triggers a response under the plan

Mandates debriefing procedures for pupils, staff, and families following any event addressed in the school safety plan

Applies to both public school boards and governing bodies of private schools

Amends existing statute 118.07 (4) (bm) 2. regarding school safety plan requirements

Takes effect July 1, 2026
