Department of Natural Resources required to award $1,750,000 grant to the town of Washington in Vilas County for dredging the Deerskin River

Grant funds may only be used for actual costs of permits, testing, dredging, and transportation of removed sediment directly related to the project

Funding appropriated from the state environmental fund as a biennial segregated appropriation for fiscal year 2025-26

Town must return the full $1,750,000 to the state if the dredging project is not completed by December 31, 2028

Any unexpended grant funds must be returned to the state upon project completion
