DATCP authorized to award implementation grants to cities, villages, towns, counties, regional planning commissions, and tribal governments for activities including first-time farmland preservation zoning certification, enrolling land in preservation agreements, designating agricultural enterprise areas, monitoring compliance, and program outreach

Maximum acreage for designated agricultural enterprise areas increased from 2,000,000 to 3,000,000 acres statewide

Farmland preservation income tax credit amounts (currently $10 or $12.50 per qualifying acre) indexed for inflation annually starting August 2026, based on USDA prices paid by farmers index or consumer price index as fallback

Initial August 2026 inflation adjustment calculated based on percentage change from January 2023 to August 2026 to capture prior inflation

Grant recipients may be required to provide up to 50% matching funds, and DATCP must withhold at least 50% of grant funds until project benchmarks are completed
