Public school principals must schedule at least one date and time at the beginning of each school term for federally chartered youth membership organizations (such as Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of the United States of America) to present information to students on school property

Qualifying organizations must be identified under specific chapters of Title 36 of the U.S. Code, have an educational purpose, and promote civic involvement

Organizations may provide oral or written information about their programs, including how they further educational interests and civic involvement consistent with good citizenship

Presentations may occur during noninstructional time as determined by the principal and are intended to encourage student membership

Requirements take effect beginning in the 2026-27 school year and apply to all public schools including independent charter schools
