Extends Medical Assistance (Medicaid) eligibility for postpartum women from 60 days to 365 days after the end of pregnancy, contingent on federal approval

Requires the Department of Health Services to seek a federal waiver from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to implement the extended coverage

Eligibility continues regardless of changes in family income during the postpartum coverage period

Builds on 2021 Wisconsin Act 58, which required DHS to seek approval for a 90-day extension; DHS filed a Section 1115 waiver application in June 2022

Applies to multiple categories of pregnant women eligible for Medical Assistance, including those whose income does not exceed the standard of need and those with income up to 300% of the poverty line
