Joint resolution honoring Senator Timothy Francis Cullen (February 25, 1944 – December 23, 2024), who served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1975-1987 and 2011-2015, including as Senate Majority Leader from 1982-1986

Cullen served as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services under Republican Governor Tommy Thompson (1987-1988), demonstrating bipartisan cooperation

Legislative accomplishments included creating the Homeownership Mortgage Loan Program, improving unemployment compensation laws, increasing homestead tax credit payments, and enacting consumer protections for credit card holders

Founded the Tim Cullen Government Institute for 11th graders and the Janesville Multicultural Teacher Scholarship Fund in 2008, which has hired 11 teachers of color with 20 more students in the pipeline

Partnered with Republican former Senate Majority Leader Dale Schultz to advocate statewide for nonpartisan redistricting and ending gerrymandering
