Wisconsin Legislature honors Justice David T. Prosser Jr., who passed away on December 1, 2024, at age 81, after more than 40 years of public service across all three branches of state government

Served 18 years in the Wisconsin Assembly (nine terms beginning in 1978), including six years as minority leader and two years as Speaker, after serving as Outagamie County district attorney

Appointed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 1998 by Governor Tommy Thompson, then elected to two 10-year terms in 2001 and 2011 before retiring in 2016

Served on numerous councils and commissions including the Wisconsin Judicial Council, Wisconsin Sentencing Commission, Wisconsin Council on Criminal Justice, and was a Life Member of the Uniform Law Commission
