Department of Health Services must establish a grant program for adult family homes, community-based residential facilities, nursing homes, and residential care apartment complexes to purchase patient lift devices

Appropriates $300,000 in GPR for fiscal year 2025-26 as a continuing appropriation for grants and data collection

Patient lift devices must be DHS-approved, capable of independent operation by patients/residents, operable by staff, and designed to mechanically lift a person

Grant recipients must agree to participate in data reporting as specified by DHS; the department will collect and analyze reported data

Up to $100,000 of the appropriation may be used for data collection and analysis, which DHS may contract out to a third party
