Defines "wakesurfing" as surfing a motorboat's wake (with or without a tow rope) or operating a motorboat to create a wake intended to be surfed by another person

Requires wakesurfing motorboats to operate at least 200 feet from shorelines, docks, piers, boathouses, other structures, persons in the water, and occupied vessels

Applies existing water skiing safety regulations to wakesurfing, including requiring an observer or wide-angle mirror, restricting activity to sunrise-sunset hours, prohibiting intoxicated participation, and maintaining 100 feet from anchored boats, personal watercraft, and marked swimming areas

Exempts DNR-authorized or municipality-authorized wakesurfing tournaments, competitions, exhibitions, and trials where adequate lighting is provided

Mandates that DNR boating safety courses include education on wakesurfing and proper operation of motorboats used in wakesurfing
