Health insurance policies and self-insured governmental plans must continue covering vaccines on an equal basis if the federal CDC withdraws recommendations, provided the American Academy of Pediatrics or American Academy of Family Physicians still recommends them

Applies to disability insurance policies and self-insured health plans of the state, counties, cities, towns, villages, and school districts

Defined network plans, preferred provider plans, and limited service health organizations are also subject to these vaccine coverage requirements

Department of Health Services must consider recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics or American Academy of Family Physicians when determining which diseases to include in the state immunization program vaccination schedule
