Requires operators of full-service pharmacies and major grocery stores (at least 15,000 sq ft) to provide 60 days advance written notice before permanent closures, regardless of employer size or number of affected employees.

Notice must be provided to affected employees, collective bargaining representatives, the highest municipal official, and the county board chairperson where the store is located.

Affected employees may recover up to 60 days' pay at their regular rate plus the value of lost benefits if the employer fails to provide timely notice.

Employers who fail to notify municipal and county officials face penalties of $1,000-$5,000 per day of violation, plus potential suspension or revocation of alcohol beverage licenses, business tax certificates, or seller's permits.

Exempts closures where the employer relocates within 2 miles and offers employment to all affected workers with no more than a 6-month break in employment.
