Department of Public Instruction will pay $7,000 bonuses to teachers who have been continuously licensed and employed by the same school board for 5 consecutive school years

First eligible school year for counting toward the bonus is 2026-27, with payments beginning in the 2031-32 school year

Teachers can receive additional $7,000 bonuses for each subsequent 5-year period of continuous employment that doesn't overlap with a prior bonus period

Bonus payments are excluded from earnings calculations for the Wisconsin Retirement System

School boards must annually report to DPI the names of teachers eligible for bonus payments
