Requires county board chairpersons to publish a class 1 public notice when a vacancy occurs, including the procedure for applying for the position.

Appointments to fill vacancies can only be made no earlier than 14 days after publishing the notice, and only from those who formally applied.

Appointees must be qualified electors and residents of the supervisory district, and serve the unexpired portion of the term unless a special election is ordered.

Vacancies occurring after November 30 in the year preceding term expiration cannot be filled by appointment.

Applies to all Wisconsin counties except Milwaukee County.
