Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, federally chartered youth membership organizations may request access to Wisconsin public schools to provide oral or written information to students during school days on school property

Qualifying organizations are those identified in specific chapters of Title 36 of the U.S. Code (chapters 301, 309, 311, 709, or 803) that have educational purposes and promote civic involvement, such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and similar groups

School governing bodies (school boards or charter school governing boards) have discretion to schedule at least one date and time for these presentations, which may occur during noninstructional time

Presentations may include information about how the organization furthers students' educational interests and civic involvement, with the purpose of encouraging membership

The law applies to all public schools including charter schools, and extends to Milwaukee's first class city school district
