Prohibits state agencies and local governments from restricting the use or sale of motor vehicles based on their energy source (gasoline, diesel, electric, etc.)

Prohibits state agencies and local governments from restricting the use or sale of other devices based on the energy source that powers or is consumed by the device

Exempts government fleet purchasing policies, allowing state agencies and local governments to establish their own criteria when buying vehicles for their own use

Applies to all political subdivisions, special purpose districts, and state agencies including boards, commissions, departments, and authorities

Creates new section 995.80 of the Wisconsin Statutes; takes effect the day after publication
