Expands state agency status to include physician assistants and advanced practice nurse prescribers who volunteer without compensation for local health departments or school districts, previously limited to physicians only

Grants these volunteer providers legal protections under state indemnification and defense statutes (ss. 165.25(6), 893.82(3), and 895.46), making them agents of the Department of Health Services

Allows physician assistants and advanced practice nurse prescribers to supervise school district immunization programs and issue written orders for vaccine administration

Requires volunteer providers to follow written protocols issued by the Department of Health Services to qualify for state agent status

Enacted August 8, 2025; effective August 10, 2025 (day after publication date of August 9, 2025)
