Emergency proclamations issued by local chief executive officers are limited to 60 days maximum, unless extended by the governing body

Defines "chief executive officer" to include county executives, county administrators, county board chairs (in counties with administrative coordinators), mayors, city managers, village presidents, village managers, and town board chairpersons

Acting or temporary executives are also covered under these time limits

Governing bodies retain authority to ratify, alter, modify, extend, or repeal emergency proclamations once they are able to meet
