School boards offering human growth and development programs must include high-definition ultrasound videos showing brain, heart, sex organs, and vital organ development in early fetal development when explaining pregnancy and prenatal development.

High-quality computer-generated renderings or animations showing fertilization and every stage of fetal development, with weekly markers for cell growth and organ development until birth, are required.

A presentation on each trimester of pregnancy addressing the physical and emotional health of the mother must be included.

Parental responsibility instruction must now include the importance of secure interpersonal relationships for infant mental health and the value of reading to young children for mental development.

Requirements apply only when age-appropriate and only to school boards that elect to offer the optional human growth and development instructional program for K-12 students.
