Requires disability insurance policies and governmental self-insured health plans to cover maternity and newborn care as an essential health benefit, with specific benefits determined by the Commissioner of Insurance through rulemaking

Mandates the commissioner survey employer-sponsored coverage to ensure required benefits match those typically offered by employers, and requires no or limited cost-sharing for maternity and newborn care

Prohibits insurers from making coverage decisions, setting reimbursement rates, or designing benefits that discriminate against individuals based on disability or expected length of life

Requires periodic updates by the commissioner to address gaps in coverage access, and mandates that when overlapping coverage requirements exist, the more comprehensive coverage applies

Exempts certain disability insurance policies described in s. 632.745 (11) (b) 1. to 12. from these requirements
