Inmates in state correctional institutions and county jails must be allowed at least 2 in-person visiting periods per week, unless under lockdown or in solitary confinement (visits may be denied for up to 10 consecutive days in those cases)

Each inmate may designate up to 25 individuals as registered visitors; removal from the registration list requires written reasons and is appealable through a formal complaint process

Inmates must be allowed to physically embrace each visitor for a minimum of 20 seconds at the beginning and end of each visiting period

Facilities must provide visitors with paper, pen or pencil, and crayons or markers upon request, and inmates may keep any original notes, drawings, or works created during visits
