Creates the office of board counsel in Wisconsin counties that have both a corporation counsel and a county executive or county administrator

Board counsel is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the county board, operating independently from the corporation counsel

Board counsel and any deputy board counsels must be attorneys licensed in Wisconsin

Duties include providing legal advice and legal services to the county board

County boards may choose to leave the board counsel position unfilled at their discretion
