Department of Public Instruction must create a standardized prerecorded audio message for announcing school lockdowns, developed in consultation with the Office of School Safety in the Department of Justice

The audio message must be provided to all public, private, and tribal schools at no cost

Schools with individualized safety plans that include lockdown procedures must incorporate the DPI-created audio message to announce any required lockdowns

Amends existing school safety plan requirements under Wisconsin statute 118.07(4)(bm)1, which already mandate individualized safety plans for each school building regularly occupied by students
