Removes registered nurses described under s. 255.06 (1) (f) 1. from the list of health care providers authorized to provide written statements excusing student absences for physical or mental health conditions

Retains authorization for physicians, naturopathic doctors, dentists, chiropractors, optometrists, psychologists, physician assistants, advanced practice registered nurses, and Christian Science practitioners to provide absence excuses

Written excuses must state the time period for validity, not to exceed 30 days

Takes effect September 1, 2026
