Requires firearm owners who reside with a person prohibited from possessing firearms to store their firearms in a securely locked box, container, or locked location, or with a trigger lock engaged when not carrying the firearm

First violation constitutes a Class A misdemeanor; second or subsequent violations are a Class I felony

Prohibited persons under existing state law include felony convicts, those found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, individuals subject to domestic abuse/child abuse/harassment injunctions, and those involuntarily committed for mental health treatment

Amends Wisconsin statutes 941.29 and 973.123 to create the new storage requirement and associated penalties
