Permits are valid for the calendar year in which issued and must be carried and shown to law enforcement on demand while foraging or possessing foraged items

DNR may issue permits directly, appoint non-employee agents, or contract for a statewide automated issuing system; agents may retain 50 cents of each issuing fee plus 50 cents per automated system transaction
