Department of Health Services must award $600,000 in grants to 6 municipal EMS programs to hire full-time community paramedics or community EMS practitioners, with priority given to 2 rural, 2 suburban, and 2 urban programs

EMS programs that already employ a community paramedic or community EMS practitioner are ineligible for grants; a 7th grant may be awarded if funding remains

Grant recipients must submit effectiveness reports to DHS and the legislature within one year, detailing estimated cost savings and number of individuals served

Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging receives $200,000 grants in both fiscal years 2025-26 and 2026-27 for statewide falls prevention awareness and initiatives

Community EMS grants appropriation expires July 1, 2027; all other provisions take effect the day after publication
