Repeals Article XIII, Section 13 of the Wisconsin Constitution, which currently limits marriage recognition to unions between one man and one woman

Removes the constitutional prohibition on recognizing legal statuses identical or substantially similar to marriage for unmarried individuals (such as civil unions or domestic partnerships)

Represents first consideration of a proposed constitutional amendment; requires adoption by two successive legislatures and voter ratification to take effect
