Wisconsin Legislature honors Chief Justice Ann Walsh Bradley upon her retirement from the Wisconsin Supreme Court

First woman appointed as circuit court judge in Marathon County (1985) and first woman elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court (1995)

Served three 10-year terms on the Wisconsin Supreme Court (elected 1995, reelected 2005 and 2015) and chosen as Chief Justice by colleagues in 2025

Career began as high school teacher in La Crosse before earning J.D. from University of Wisconsin Law School as a Knapp Scholar

Active in international judicial organizations including Vice-Chair of the International Judicial Academy Board, founding member of the Global Network on Electoral Justice, and chair of the International Association of Women Judges Board of Trustees
