Employers participating in a Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) plan as of July 1, 2025, who withdraw from the plan may rejoin within five years from the date of withdrawal

Current law limits PEIA eligibility to mandatory state participants, county boards of education, qualifying public charter schools, and employers already participating as of 2021

The bill amends §5-16-29 of the West Virginia Code to create this new five-year grace period for returning employers

Without this change, employers who leave PEIA would lose eligibility to participate in the plan
