Requires all absentee ballots returned by mail to be received by county election officials before polls close on election day, rather than the current deadline of the day after the election

Eliminates the provision allowing ballots postmarked by election day to be accepted if received by the time the board of canvassers convenes

Applies the same poll-closing deadline to absentee ballots from uniformed services members and overseas voters, who previously had until the canvass began to have ballots received

Electronically submitted absentee ballots must still be received by the close of polls on election day (unchanged from current law)

Hand-delivered absentee ballots must still be received no later than the day before the election (unchanged from current law)
