Adds new section §61-11-27 to the West Virginia Code defining "law-enforcement officer" for purposes of specific criminal statutes (§61-2-10b, §61-5-17, and §61-5-17a)

Expands the definition to include "chief executives," "law-enforcement officials," and "pre-certified law-enforcement officers" as defined in §30-29-1

Covers any person hired, elected, appointed, or otherwise authorized to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, or investigation of criminal laws in West Virginia

Passed April 7, 2025, with an effective date of July 6, 2025 (90 days from passage)
